meet the artist: KATHARINE PETERSON

Kat grew up in Houston, Texas and discovered her love for textiles early on. She studied at California College of the Arts, The Fabric Workshop and Museum, and Philadelphia University. Her focus was on print and textile deisign and she now teaches textiles at CCA sharing her passion for silkscreening and hand drawn designs with the next generation of artists.

Her work is inspired by bright colors, playful patterns, and of course her love of cats. Kat is currently expressing her love of quirky prints through her line Baby Cats of California, creating joyful hand drawn prints, patches and accessories that bring a little happiness into everyday life.
